Boni Beach Hotel In Lombok: Here’s Our Honest Review
We came to Boni Beach expecting a quiet boutique stay, and we got wayyy more than that!
The food was a-ma-zing, the location was unbeatable (right in front of Pantai Serangan beach), and there were heaps of little details that made it feel truly special.
Run by Beth and Dillon (a beautiful couple), it’s a place where everything is thoughtfully done: from the open-air Balinese-style rooms to the pool that’s just as tempting as the ocean out front.
It was so hard to leave! But the truth is that it’s not for everybody.
We’ll tell you what it’s really like to stay here, who it suits best plus the unmissable places you can explore nearby.

Our experience staying at Boni Beach
The food
This was the highlight of our stay, hands down. Lombok has some AMAZING food (and we tried them all in Kuta) but the Boni Beach restaurant was our favourite.
Dillon’s background as a chef and nutritionist shows in every dish, and we honestly rate it as some of the best food we’ve had in Lombok.
The menu is very unique. Our favourite was sitting beside the pool in the morning. Sipping our coffee and having a fresh breakfast + coffee.
The rooms
We stayed in a spacious king-size room. The open-air Balinese style gives it a breezy, relaxed feel, and the bed was sooo comfortable! It honestly was like sleeping on a cloud.
The décor
Every single piece of furniture was chosen with intention, and it all works together to create a stylish but welcoming space. It feels like luxury, but without being over the top.
Also, the pool was stunning! There are private pools in the villas, too.
The staff
They were so good, they deserve their own spot. They are helpful, warm, and attentive, always going the extra mile to make sure you’re having a good time.
They’re very knowledgeable about Lombok too, and generous with their recommendations.
The location
It was the perfect location for us. It’s a bit secluded, right in front of a very famous surf beach called Pantai Serangan. The surfing there is more advanced, but you can also go there for a stroll or to see the sunset.
The boys were surfing every morning while the girls lounged by the pool drinking Australian quality coffee (that’s dam good coffee).
The iconic Selong Belanak Beach is also nearby. It’s an excellent spot for beginner surfers. The hotel offers a free shuttle service there.
There is also drink sunset restaurants and other activities to keep you busy all day.
How to get there?
Boni Beach is in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.
Most travellers fly into Kuta Lombok either from Bali or direct from Jakarta, with connections also available from Kuala Lumpur.
From the airport, it’s about a 45-60 minute drive. The resort can arrange a pick-up for you!
You can also rent a car at the airport if you’re keen. We recommend this tool to find the best deals on car rentals for your specific dates!

Boni Beach is honestly a magical stay and there’s a lot to do nearby!
You can drive to local lookouts, check out other beaches, go on hikes, or just head into Kuta Lombok (30 minutes away) for food and shopping without the Bali-style traffic *wink*
Buuut here are some really epic things to do:
